G.R.A.V. (67 min program)
-LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & DIVERSITY APPRECIATION
Highly recommended for college orientations, high school assemblies, & leadership conferences!!
|
We want students to be the type of leaders that others naturally gravitate towards. G.R.A.V. is the acronym we use to convey four values we believe apply to all sorts of skills necessary while in school: becoming a leader, appreciating diversity, preventing bullying, etc… GROWTH We use exercises where students get to experience the benefit of being slightly outside their comfort zone as we believe and share that this is where growth happens. RESEARCH As humans, we tend to judge and put up barriers. We use coems like, "The Boy, The Myth, The Legend" (Michael Jackson) to exemplify the value of making the effort to learn about others in order to understand them. Once we understand others we can begin to respect them. APPROACHABILITY Great leaders don’t only make the effort to research and respect others, they are approachable and open to others learning about them. Through comedy and poetry we exemplify this personally. VALIDATION Every special leader has the ability to make others in their community/team better. We share the power of validation in its many forms and how students can use present day tools, like texting, to enhance the abilities and confidence of their peers. For 1 hour we educate, our chalkboard just happens to be comedy and poetry |
"Students were expecting another somewhat boring assembly with a slideshow and a few speakers, and were happily surprised to have Chad and Iggy perform. Chad and Iggy did a great job speaking about diversity in terms that students could understand and relate to. Teachers thought it was the best MLK assembly we had had in a long time."

"I have no clue which teacher I should thank for the assembly today but I figured you would be a good person to tell. I think the assembly was the greatest one I have seen at St. Andrew's and possibly one of the best performances I have seen in person."
